Ladbrokes World Hurdle Runners and Odds

In 2005 Ladbrokes took over sponsorship of the World Hurdle which is to be run on Thursday 18th March 2010 at 3.20pm. With a current prize fund of £260,000 there’s a lot at stake for the trainers and owners of the horses who have been entered into this race.

The Ladbrokes World Hurdle is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race which is open to horses aged four years or older and is run on the new course at Cheltenham over a distance of 3 miles with twelve hurdles to be jumped.

The most successful horse in the history of this race was Inglis Dreamer who won it three times in 2005, 2007 and 2008 but it was Big Bucks, the French 7 year old trained by Paul Nicholls, with Ruby Walsh on board who won it in 2009 so it should come as no surprise to know that the bookies have made it odds on favourite, at 4/7, to win it again in 2010. No confirmation as to the jockey but it’s a safe bet to assume that Ruby will once again be trying working his magic…
