Lie Forrit Prep For Cleeve Hurdle
Lie Forrit, the 25/1 (with Paddy Power) Ladbrokes World Hurdle runner is being prepped, by trainer Willie Amos, for a run at the Betfair Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham on January 30. The Irish six year old has had 10 life time starts with six wins and two second places making him an excellent each way prospect for the big race on 18th March.
Preparations for him have been slowed by the recent cold snap in the weather and, according to Racing Post, his trainer Amos said on Monday morning: “We have been using the indoor school with him but I won’t know what I have gained or lost with him until we get him out on the gallops, which will hopefully be tomorrow – I have a JCB clearing them at the moment.”
Amos added: “We have entered him in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle and I don’t think that we have any alternatives with him – if he ran in the Pertemps Final he would be lumbered with top-weight. Everybody seems to be running scared of Big Buck’s but you can’t be afraid of one horse and nothing fazes Lie Forrit, he hits a flat spot in his races but he stays all day.”
Lie Forrit is on excellent form, 1211-U11, with only one recent blip back in October 2009 when he unseated his jockey, Gillies, at Aintree. With Big Bucks practically odds on favourite and such short ante-post odds on offer, maybe Lie Forrit could be a horse to watch for a place?
