RSA Chase Runners and Odds

Scheduled to be run on Wednesday 17th March 2010 at 2.40pm the RSA Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt chase which is open to novice chasers aged five years or older. It is run over a distance of 3 miles and 110 yards with nineteen fences to be jumped.

Formerly known as the Broadway Novices’ Chase, the RSA Chase has changed sponsorship hands once since the sixties. From 1964 to 1973 it was sponsored by the Tote but since then it has been backed by its present sponsor the RSA Insurance Group.

As novice chasers don’t stay novice for very long there’s never been a horse who retained the title but so many go on to be extremely successful that they can become household names including Arkle in 1963 and more recently Denman in 2007.
