Arkle Chase 2012

At 2.05pm on Tuesday 13th March 2012, the Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Steeple Chase will take place as the second race of the Cheltenham Festival.

Considered to be one of the major races of the festival, it is run over two miles and has been known as the Arkle Chase since 1969 in honour of the legendary steeplechaser who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1965, 66 and 67.

It’s a novice champion chase and past winners include Finians Rainbow in 2011, Sizing Europe in 2010, Forpadydeplasterer in 2009 and Tidal Bay in 2008.

The entrants and eventual runners will change numerous times until the day before the race as trainers and owners weigh up their options so be sure that you’re aware of ante-post betting rules if you fancy taking an early gamble on the horses below.
