DN Mares Hurdle 2012
The David Nicholson Mares race was introduced for the 2008 Cheltenham festival. This Mares race is for 4 year old and over and the first two winners of it were both 5 years of age.
Quevega has won the race in some style for the past three years and it is strongly anticipated that he will go for four in a row in 2012. Willie Mullins will no doubt get her in fantastic shape and if Ruby rides again then it could be lights out for the other runners although I reckon they won’t so quick to give up the shot at the title.
Unaccompanied looks like a fine runner, and at 5 years of age and under the care of Dermot Weld, he could mount a serious challenge although if the ante-post odds are anything to go by, it would seem that the bookies believe this race is already sewn up!
