Jessies Dream Seasonal Uncertainty

The 2011 RSA Chase runner-up, Jessies Dream may miss the rest of the season, despite not having run in it so far. Up until last Wednesday morning he was progressing nicely but was then ruled out of Sunday’s Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown, and now it seems, he could miss the Cheltenham Festival altogether.

With entries into both the 2012 Ryanair Chase and Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup at this year’s Cheltenham festival, hopes were high for trainer Gordon Elliott.

However, speaking later on his Betfair blog Elliot said: “He was in great form and schooled really well but today there was no sparkle so at this stage, with time against us, I’m not sure he will make the track at all this season.”

Best priced at 25/1 for the 2012 Ryanair Chase and 28/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Elliott may just be biding his time before making any concrete decisions. With any good luck the Jessies’ Dream sparkle will be back very soon.
