Synchronised Future Uncertain
The organisers of the Hennessy Gold Cup in Leopardstown must have thought that there would be no entries at one point as that many horses dropped out one by one. First there was Jessies Dream, then Quito De La Roque and then to add to their woes Synchronised was also ruled out.
More importantly, where does that leave Synchronised for the rest of the season? The Lexus Chase winner had a run out on the Thursday after which trainer Jonjo O’Neill decided he was not happy with him and withdrew him from the Hennessy.
Subsequently, Frank Berry, racing manager to Synchronised’s owner JP McManus, said: “Jonjo wasn’t happy with Synchronised this morning, so the horse won’t be travelling to Leopardstown’.
Ominously enough he then followed that statement up with “We will have to wait a bit longer before he runs again and there are no plans for him yet.”
Can they get him back on track for the 2012 Cheltenham Festival or indeed the 2012 Grand National?? He’s entered into both at the moment and is currently best priced at 14/1 for the Gold Cup and 16/1 with Paddy Power for the National.
If all three horses fail to make the Gold Cup then it could get very interesting…
