By pipping 7-4 favourite Mossley to the post, Join Together became a firm favourite for the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham festival in March. The Paul Nicholls trained Join Together, went into the Ryman Stationer Novices’ Chase, on Saturday 10th December 2011, at 3/1 and following a fine round of jumping gave his trainer another much deserved win.

Nicholls said, “All Join Together does is jump and gallop and that was a much improved performance. I was thinking four-miler with him, but might change my plans now. He’s right up there with the best staying chasers.”

The win was Nicholls’ third in four years in this race. It’s a contest which has also seen the likes of Time For Rupert, Joe Lively, Therealbandit and Sir Rembrandt emerge victorious, though none went on to win the RSA Chase. That race could be the main target for the winner now, and being a good jumper and strong stayer he has the main attributes needed for that Grade 1.

Odds for Join Together to win the RSA Chase have generally shortened to 14 -1 from 25.
