The Mares Chase is run over a distance of two miles and four furlongs (4,005 metres)
During its running there are 17 fences to be jumped.
The Mares Chase is paramount for the value of unraced fillies, to encourage owners to buy them as racehorses. This race adds to the attraction of purchasing a filly.
